Find Crawford Traffic Court Records

A Crawford County traffic court docket search starts with the citation in hand, because the ticket number is what ties the case to a hearing date, a plea, and a balance. The Crawford County Clerk in English holds the file, while statewide tools let you look up the case from home. Match the record to the ticket first. Then confirm any deadline or hearing with the clerk, since the court's own order controls over what a search screen shows. One caution: a ticket that names a town venue deserves a second look, because Crawford County lists no separate town court in the current state court lists.

Traffic Case Records in Crawford County

Crawford Circuit Court is the county's only trial court. The Indiana court directory, the MyCase selector, the Rule 8 court-code list, and Court Calendar all show just that one node for Crawford. Infractions carry the `IF` classification and misdemeanors carry `CM`. So a citation that turns into an Odyssey case lands under Crawford County and Crawford Circuit Court.

The docket is the court record behind the citation. It can hold the charge or violation, the parties, the citation number, hearing settings, a plea, judgment, financial entries, and later compliance events. MyCase labels the public chronology a Case Summary. That screen helps, but the clerk's file and the court's orders are what count.

A ticket naming Alton, English, Leavenworth, Marengo, Milltown, or another issuing place does not prove a town court holds it. Crawford lists no town court. Confirm the printed venue with the issuing agency or the town before you pay or appear.

Crawford Traffic in 13C01

Indiana's uniform cause number puts the venue right in the string. The prefix 13C01 marks Crawford Circuit Court. The groups that follow give the filing year and month, the case classification, and a six-digit sequence. An infraction may show `IF`; a misdemeanor may show `CM`. The pattern 13C01-YYMM-IF-###### illustrates format only.

UTT number

Citation number
The ticket identifier accepted in MyCase's Case search.
Cause number

Do not mix these identifiers up. Entering a UTT where a portal expects a cause number can return nothing, even when the Crawford traffic case is alive and well.

Crawford County Traffic Ticket Lookups

Different tools answer different questions. The official Indiana ePay portal searches payable participating tickets, MyCase searches the case docket, and Court Calendar searches a short public date window. The Crawford County Clerk supplies the phone, counter, and mail fallback.

Indiana ePay search for Crawford County traffic tickets

The ePay screen can help you locate a payable ticket. It does not replace the full Crawford Circuit Court Case Summary, though.

  1. Read the citation for the issuing venue, UTT, citation number, and deadline.
  2. Search ePay by UTT, or use its driver-license or name and birth-date fields for your own citation.
  3. Search MyCase by Citation Number when a court chronology is needed.
  4. Select Crawford County and inspect the court, case status, events, and settings.
  5. Check Court Calendar for a public hearing date within its available window.
  6. Call the clerk at (812) 338-2565 if the ticket is absent, not payable, unclear, or near its deadline.

When Crawford ePay Shows Nothing

An empty ePay result does not cancel a ticket. Online payment works only for participating courts and eligible cases. The citation may not be entered yet. It may require an appearance, or it may sit outside the payment system. It may also be filed under a different identifier.

Call the Crawford County Clerk. Give the printed citation number, name, date of birth, issuing agency, and deadline. Ask whether the case is in Crawford Circuit Court. Ask whether an appearance is required, and which payment channels are current. The official address is 715 Judicial Plaza Drive, English, Indiana 47118. Mail goes to PO Box 375, English, IN 47118. Do not mail payment until the clerk confirms the amount, payee, method, and timeliness.

If a town issued the citation, call that town too. That keeps you from sending money to Crawford Circuit Court when the face of the ticket directs another lawful venue.

Traffic Court Dates in Crawford County

Indiana Court Calendar carries one Crawford node: Crawford Circuit Court. Pick Crawford County, optionally select Crawford Circuit Court, enter a date inside the published window, and search by case number or name. MyCase adds case-specific settings and later reset events.

Case or citationUse the exact 13C01-YYMM-IF-###### cause number or the citation identifier.
Date and timeRead the scheduled start and any end time or time-zone field.
Hearing typeThe docket label may state initial hearing, pretrial, trial, compliance, or another setting.
Court and sessionConfirm Crawford Circuit Court, judge or session, and location details.
Reset dataRead later events for cancellation, new dates, orders, or reasons.

A prior setting can linger on the calendar after a reset. The current docket and order control, confirmed by the clerk at (812) 338-2565 or court at (812) 338-3113. An empty calendar result is never a cancellation.

Crawford Court Calendar Search

The Indiana Court Calendar is a hearing locator, not a complete case file. Its public window covers the prior seven days and the next four weeks. Dates outside that span need MyCase or the clerk.

A calendar entry can show the case number, court, date, start and end time, hearing description, judge or session, result, and a cancellation reason when one is supplied. Save the cause number and return to MyCase to read the underlying event chain. A later scheduling entry or signed order may supersede the listing.

The court posts no daily PDF, weekly docket, calendar email, or standing Crawford remote-hearing link. Weather, courtroom changes, and special arrangements should be confirmed directly.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

Paying and fighting a ticket are different legal choices. Indiana ePay warns that payment is an admission or nolo plea, waives trial rights, and has the effect of judgment. Anyone who wants to contest the citation should contact the clerk before the printed deadline rather than pay first.

Do not ignore the deadline. Indiana says failure to appear or pay may lead to a driving-privilege suspension. The court must notify BMV after compliance. Unpaid debt may also enter tax-refund intercept, which adds a 10 percent processing fee.

Crawford publishes no county-specific deferral, defensive-driving, fine, or dismissal program. Ask the clerk what procedures exist, and do not assume eligibility.

Crawford Payment Is a Plea

The portal's convenience can hide what the button legally does. Before paying, compare the UTT, court, name, violation, balance, and deadline against the citation. A mismatch should go to the clerk first.

The BMV guidance supports prompt court follow-up. Only the Crawford court can state the current case status and what compliance it requires, though.

Two Records: Court and Driver Files

A Crawford traffic case and an Indiana driver record are two different things. The Clerk of the Circuit Court keeps the case file. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles keeps the driver record, and only writes to it once the court sends over reportable information.

The BMV driver-record page describes its separate product.

That split matters in practice. A BMV record will not stand in for a certified Crawford court disposition, and the court file says nothing the BMV's official driver record does not.

Crawford Traffic Record Copy Fees

Crawford publishes no official schedule for traffic-case copies, certified copies, local fines, deferral, dismissal, or a safety course. A balance shown online can shift after a later entry lands. Ask the clerk to confirm the current amount.

That consequence sits apart from the original fine, the court costs, and any clerk copy charge.

Crawford Town Citation Check

Checking a town citation is straightforward. Start with the venue printed on the ticket. If the venue is unclear, call the issuing town. Before you pay anything, confirm with the Crawford clerk. Alton, English, Leavenworth, Marengo, and Milltown show no court node in the state systems. The reason for the extra step is simple: council minutes, town ordinance pages, and police contacts are not court dockets. Once the citation carries a Crawford Circuit cause number, MyCase and Court Calendar become the public search layers. For a name or cause-number method that goes wider, use the Crawford County docket search. The clerk handles the official copy.

Crawford Ten-Day Reporting Path

Indiana court guidance gives courts ten days to report non-moving traffic convictions to BMV. Reporting happens only after the court acts. So it never replaces reading the Crawford traffic case itself. The court docket may already show the plea, judgment, payment, or compliance event. The BMV record may not have caught up yet. When timing matters, check each record at its source. Ask the Crawford clerk whether the judgment and any compliance entry are on file. Turn to BMV only once the court-side question is answered. A lag between the two systems does not move the citation deadline. Nor does it excuse a required court appearance.
